Let me introduce you to Josh Saylor. He is a Senior Principal Consultant, based in the Southeast region of the United States, who works as a Salesforce Solution Architect at Apps Associates. Josh always knew he wanted a career in IT. A year after graduating college with a Computer Information Services degree, he found his calling when a friend told him Salesforce was looking for consultants.
He took the plunge and realized he loved it. Over the next few years, working in various companies, his experience grew in BigMachines and Salesforce. Over time his work primarily became Salesforce focused and he worked as a solution architect. He heard great things about Apps Associates from current employees and it was our lucky day when he came on board.
After being with the company only a short time, Josh immediately noticed the high level of engagement the leadership provided which he found lacking in his previous jobs. “Even though Apps isn’t a small company, they still treat their employees with that small company mindset,” said Josh. “The leadership, held true to every promise they made. I’ve been told multiple times if there is something we can be doing better, or if there is something I want to try…go for it. You can’t find that in many places.”
When it comes to Salesforce, Josh wants people to know that it isn’t just CRM. It’s a powerful platform that people just don’t know enough about. Many times when he’s implementing the technology he also explains to clients the full capabilities of the Salesforce system. The expansion of the AppExchange, the addition of SteelBrick, and Wave Analytics Cloud shows clients that Salesforce isn’t just about accounts, opportunities, and case management anymore. Every year Salesforce adds something new and keeps pushing themselves forward with their technology. It’s for that reason Josh is confident they will be in the marketplace for a very long time.
Josh keeps pushing himself forward too. His current certifications include Salesforce Administration and Salesforce Sales Cloud, and he is pursuing additional certifications for SteelBrick CPQ, Service Cloud, and Developer. As busy as he is with a new job, Josh is also newly married (Congratulations!) and recently purchased a new home. Josh has a passion for photography and, when time allows, he does pro bono wedding photography for people unable to afford it. You can connect with Josh on Twitter @JoshuaRaySaylor or on LinkedIn.
